Bach: Cantata No. 188 “Ich habe meine Zuversicht” / Nikolaus Harnoncourt
Only fragments of the opening sinfonia remain. Harnoncourt’s recording is of the final movement of the Violin Concerto in D minor, adapted to the cantata’s instrumentation for oboe, strings, bassoon and solo organ. The first aria “Ich habe meine Zuversicht” is sung by the tenor. It is accompanied by an oboe, string orchestra and basso continuo, with occasional solos for the oboe. The tenor takes over a charming ritornello melody. After a short intermediate section, the aria go to the beginning with da capo. After a bass recitative and an arioso, the alto aria “Unerforschlich ist die Weise” is sung with an organ obbligato. The ritornello melody is taken over by the alto, and the music develops into an ornamental piece, including triplet melisma. It is a long aria lasting about 5 minutes. The cantata ends with a soprano recitative accompagnato followed by the chorale “Auf meinen lieben Gott”. #baroque #bach #cantata #片山俊幸 https://excelkobo.net/bachwerke/archive/BWV0188.pdf
