Bach: Cantata No. 88 “Siehe, ich will viel Fischer aussenden” / Gustav Leronhardt
In the first aria, “Siehe, ich will viel Fischer aussenden Und darnach will ich viel Jäger aussenden,” the sound of the sea (sound pattern of the waves) represents “fisherman” and the corno da caccia in the second part represents “hunter” respectively. Following the tenor recitative, the tenor aria “Nein, Gott ist allezeit geflissen” begins with the solo of tenor voice, and then adds the oboe d’amore obbligato. The first half of the piece ends with the addition of a string ensemble in the concluding section.
In the second half, the short tenor arioso is followed by the bass singing the aria “Fürchte dich nicht” over the characteristic basso continuo. This is followed by the duet aria “Beruft Gott selbst, so muss der Segen” for soprano and alto. Accompanied by strings and oboe in unison, the two voices intertwine in counterpoint. The soprano recitative is followed by the chorale “Sing, bet und geh auf Gottes Wegen” to conclude the piece. #baroque #bach #cantata #片山俊幸
