This recording was the last performance by the Bill Evans Trio with bassist Scott LaFaro. Eleven days later, LaFaro was killed in a car accident. The record is a shining example of the genius of the bassist’s playing. This is one of the best recordings featuring LaFaro’s play, and it is hard not to be intoxicated by the many great songs played in the realistic atmosphere of the “Village Vanguard” in New York City. #jazz #片山俊幸
