Francois Couperin: Concerts Royaux / Kuijken Ensemble / Christophe Rousset / Robert Claire / Walter Van Hauwe
This is Couperin’s first collection of ensembles, published in 1722. As there is no specification of instruments, there are many different performances and a lot of variety. So I have several kinds of CD. The first one I bought was a recording by the Kuijken Ensemble with Frans Brüggen, Jorg Schaeftlein, and others, recorded in 1972, which means that the performance was already half a century old. Christophe Rousset’s CD is a harpsichord solo performance and is included in the CD of the complete works of clavsin. It is also quite good. Robert Claire’s CD is a complete performance with traverso only. He is accompanied by Davitt Moroney, Jaap Ter Linden, and Janet See on the second flute.I also have a CD of Walter Van Hauwe playing only the fourth concerto with voice flute. #baroque #couperin #片山俊幸
