This CD contains four pieces. “L’Apotheose De Lully” and “Parnassus (or the Apotheosis of Corelli)” those which begins with the sonnet narrated by Robert Kohnen. And more “La Steinquerque” and “La Superbe”. The Kuijken Ensemble, Lucy van Dael, Bruce Haynes, and others make up the ensemble. “Steinquerque” is the name of a place in Belgium, celebrating the French victory in the war there in 1692. If you listen to this piece with that in mind, you will hear trumpet sounds (symbolizing the army) everywhere. The Christophe Rousset version is a performance by two harpsichords, “L’Apotheose de Lully” and “L’Apotheose De Corelli”, with no narrations. #baroque #couperin #片山俊幸
