Bach: Cantata No. 82 “Ich habe genug” / Ricercar Consort
This spring, I finished writing a review of Telefunken’s complete collection of Bach cantatas.

Call it self-serving, but I think my likes and dislikes have shown up here and there. For example, I’ve written some pretty arbitrary things, such as about the use of boy soprano in No. 51. I think I’m quite proud of having spoken for people who think but can’t write about it. Today, I want to talk about my favorite cantata No. 82, “Ich habe genug” (bass solo cantata). For this piece, for some reason, the veteran Egmond was removed and the young Huttenlocher was used. I’m not saying anything about Huttenlocher’s performance. His performance is also truly wonderful. Well, I guess this kind of thing happens often in the music world. It may be inevitable. However, what I wanted to hear in this piece was Max van Egmond’s version. But don’t worry. The Ricercar Consort had left it for me. You can hear Egmond’s “Warm Heart” performance on this CD. #baroque #bach #cantata #片山俊幸
