Movie “Stalingrad”
The film opens with the victorious troops on the African front on vacation in Italy. One day, they are suddenly summoned and told their next destination. It is Stalingrad on the Russian front. Within 10 minutes after the heavenly scene of Mediterranean vacation at the beginning of the film, the film shifts to the hellish urban battle scene. The realism of the battle scenes in this film is astonishing. Arms are torn off, legs are blown off, torsos are ripped in half, and so on, as if to say that this is the true warfare. Soon, the cold Russian winter arrives. Hans, Fritz, and Müller finally decide to escape. Various war crimes are also depicted, including the mistreatment of prisoners of war and the execution of civilians.
