Bach: Cantata No. 184 “Erwünschtes Freudenlicht” / Gustav Leronhardt

The piece opens with a long recitative by a tenor accompanied by two flutes. The soprano and alto duett aria “Gesegnete Christen, glückselige Herde” is accompanied softly by two flauto-traverso unison with a string ensemble. Following the tenor recitative, the tenor aria “Glück und Segen sind bereit” is sung by the violin soloist in obbligato, followed by the chorale “Herr, ich hoff je, du werdest die”. The final chorus, “Guter Hirte, Trost der Deinen” is ought to be called essentially a da capo aria for soprano and bass.　#baroque #bach #cantata #片山俊幸
