Cantata opens with the choral piece “Ihr werdet weinen und heulen”. After an instrumental ritornello, a fugue develops on a theme including a descending chromatic scale. The middle section is interrupted by the bass recitative, and again the fugue theme from the beginning returns. The instrumentation consists of two oboes d’amore, a solo flauto piccolo, and strings. Following the tenor recitative, the alto aria “Kein Arzt ist außer dir zu finden” is sung by the flauto piccolo obbligato. Following the alto recitative, the tenor aria “Erholet euch, betrübte Sinnen” is sung. Here, the trumpet joins and play with other instruments in a joyful fanfare. The last part of the piece, a long coloratura is sung.
