The first choral piece, “Herr, deine Augen sehen nach dem Glauben” begins with two oboes and the string ensemble playing a truly impressive ritornello over a basso continuo in staccato. The theme is developed in a style of homophony or Polyphony by the instruments and the chorus. Bach later used this piece in the Mass in G minor, changing the lyrics to “Kyrie”. Following the bass recitative, the alto aria “Weh der Seele, die den Schaden nicht mehr kennt” is sung by the oboe in a mournful obbligato. This is followed by the bass arioso “Verachtest du den Reichtum seiner Gnade Parte seconda?” with soft string accompaniment. The first half ends here, and the second half begins with the tenor aria “Erschrecke doch, du allzu sichre Seele”. The obbligato instrument is the violino piccolo. Following the alto recitative accompagnato, the piece closes with the only chorale movement in this cantata, “Heut lebst du, heut bekehre dich”. #baroque #bach #cantata #片山俊幸 https://excelkobo.net/bachwerke/archive/BWV0102.pdf
