Bach: Motets / Salicus Kammerchor

Bach’s motets, which are often taken up by amateur and professional choirs alike, are composed in German on psalms, chorales, and free verse. Six of Bach’s motets are considered to be his true works, four of them are by the double chorus. I listened to a performance by the Japanese choir “Salicus Kammerchor” (conducted by Genki Sakurai), which was uploaded on Spotify. The quality of the recording is excellent, with the double chorus showing off the stereo effect very well. The instrumental accompaniment seems to be organ, lute, and gamba. #baroque #bach #片山俊幸
