This is a truly interesting disc, recorded the process of the formation of the immortal masterpiece “Round Midnight”. It is a 22-minute track entitled “Round Midnight (In Progress)”. Thelonious Monk first plays the theme with a faltering melody. Then improvisational harmonies are experimented with, and gradually that “Round Midnight” is generated.
