This is a church cantata, but it was written for the wedding. The first piece, chorus “Dem Gerechten muss das Licht immer wieder aufgehen”, is a magnificent piece with lyrics from a psalm. It is composed of three trumpets, two oboes, two flute traversos, and string ensemble, and the chorus is divided into solo and ripieno. In the second half, it changes to 6/8 time and becomes a fugue. There is a long solo by the first trumpet player in the middle, making it a truly breathtaking and powerful piece. Following the bass recitative, the bass aria “Rühmet Gottes Güt und Treu” is sung with a ritornello with a characteristic inverted dot rhythm. In the ripieno section, Leonhardt adds a flute over the oboe d’amore in an octave to create a change in tone. The soprano recitative accompaniment is followed by the chorale “Wir kommen, deine Heiligkeit” sung by the full orchestra. The piece closes with the chorale “Nun danket all und bringet Ehr”, which uses two cornos that have not appeared up to this point (probably the same players switching from the trumpets), and interestingly, Bach gives his own melody to the second corno. #baroque #bach #cantata #片山俊幸 https://excelkobo.net/bachwerke/archive/BWV0195.pdf
