Jacquet de La Guerre: Complete Harpsichord Works / Francesca Lanfranco
Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de La Guerre, a female composer of Versailles, left behind a collection of six clavesan pieces in two volumes. The first volume is an orthodox suite of eight or nine dances beginning with the Prélude non mesuré, while the second volume consists of two suites of dances only. The second volume has a “proviso” that it can also be played on the violin, but they are written entirely in the style of a clavesan piece, with no figured bass. #baroque #jacquetdelaguerre #片山俊幸
