Wes Montgomery / Full House
Wes Montgomery is the performer who established the “octave technique” in the world of jazz guitar. He later abandoned improvisation and turned to popular music, where he got his big break. “A Day in the Life” was an album of Beatles cover songs and the others, and the lack of improvisation fortunately allowed him to use the octave technique on all of the pieces. On the other hand “Full House” is a record that will go down in history as his jazz performance before he turned to pops. #jazz #片山俊幸
