The opening chorus, “Alles nur nach Gottes Willen” is played by two oboes, strings, and basso continuo. The accentuated two quarter-note “Alles” is constantly heard throughout the piece, either in the instrumental or vocal section. The instrumental and choral sections are intertwined in sixteenth-note form, making this a very memorable piece of music. The alto recitative turns an arioso, then returns to a recitative again, and ends with a genitive chord. The next aria is directly connected from the previous recitative. The alto aria “Mit allem, was ich hab und bin” is sung in obbligato by violins I and II. This aria also has an impressive melody. Following the bass recitative, the soprano aria “Mein Jesus will es tun, er will dein Kreuz versüßen” is a gentle aria sung with oboe and string accompaniment. It ends impressively with a “plagal cadence” in which the opening lyrics of the aria are repeated twice in piano on the extended finale note. The cantata ends with the chorale “Was mein Gott will, das g’scheh allzeit”. #baroque #bach #cantata #片山俊幸 https://excelkobo.net/bachwerke/archive/BWV0072.pdf
