Rameau: Concert / Gustav Leonhardt, Frans Brüggen, Wieland Kuijken, and Sigiswald Kuijken
Recorded in 1971, this means a half-century old. It was digitized to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Leonhardt’s death. After listening to it for the first time in a while, I thought Leonhardt’s harpsichord was still wonderful. The three melodic instruments are in cosmic harmony around the harpsichord, as if they were planets in orbit. The fact that the flute is not played by Bart Kuijken but by Brüggen is especially the good thing of this record. In “La Livri” (Concert No. 1) and “La Timide” (Concert No. 3), octaves and unisons between flute and violin are often used, which was very fresh to my ears at that time. #baroque #rameau #片山俊幸
