Bach: Cantata No. 133 “Ich freue mich in dir” / Gustav Leonhardt
Choral cantata with hymns by Caspar Ziegler. The first piece is the chorale fantasy “Ich freue mich in dir”, which is accompanied by string orchestra and two oboes d’amore (the oboe d’amore is superimposed on the second violin and viola). The chorale parts show slight modifications and the soprano’s chorale melody is overlaid by a cornet. The second piece is the alto aria “Getrost! es faßt ein heil’ger Leib”, with two oboes d’amore playing obbligato. The short aufkrückt and dotted notes express joy. The forte and piano change frequently in this piece. Following the tenor recitative, the soprano aria “Wie lieblich klingt es in den Ohren” begins with a string ritornello with a strikingly long appoggiatura, followed by an 8/12 beat middle section and then a da capo to the beginning. The soprano soloist is Sebastian Hennig of “Knabenchor Hanover”. After the bass recitative, the cantata closes with the chorale “Wohlan, so will ich mich”. #baroque #bach #cantata #片山俊幸
