Bach: Cantata No. 68 “Also hat Gott die Welt geliebt” / Nikolaus Harnoncourt
The first piece is a chorale fantasy “Also hat Gott die Welt geliebt” in which a chorale melody by Gottfried Vopelius is arranged to a siciliano rhythm. The second soprano aria “Mein gläubiges Herze” is borrowed from the secular cantata No. 208 (Cantata of the Hunt), and the sonata part with oboe and violin concludes the second half of the movement. The fourth aria (Bass) “Du bist geboren mir zugute” is also borrowed from the cantata No. 208. The final choral piece, “Wer an ihn gläubet, der wird nicht gerichtet,” is a laborious finale written in a rather strict fugue form. #baroque #bach #cantata #片山俊幸
