Bach: Motets / Lautten Compagney, etc.
Continuing from the previous issue, I would like to listen to Bach’s motets.
Bach: Die Motetten (Lautten Compagney)
The performance is varied with instrumental performances at the beginning and in the middle of the each piece, and a symphonia from a cantata is also interspersed. Each part is basically played by one person, and the performance has a clear and crisp line.
Bach: Motets (Bach Collegium Japan)
Not much needs to be said about this group. The use of instruments is modest, but the balance with the voical part is exquisite.
Bach: Motets (Choir of King’s College, Cambridge)
Boy soprano and boy alto can be heard on this CD. All the pieces, including BWV 226 “Der Geist hilft unser Schwachheit auf” for which the instrumental designation is set, are sung a capella, and their pureness of the harmonie and dynamics set them apart from the mixed chorus.
Bach: Motets (The Moteverdi Choir)
Performed a capella. This CD is a model for all of the choir singers, both in terms of tempo and dynamism. The performance of BWV229 “Komm, Jesu, komm” is especially wonderful. #baroque #bach #motet #片山俊幸
