Dietrich Buxtehude: Trio Sonatas Op. 1 & 2 / Arcangelo

Dietrich Buxtehude, famous for his religious and organ works, left two chamber works. Op.1 and Op.2 are for violin, viola da gamba, and basso continuo. They were published seven pieces in one volume, which was unusual for the custom of the time. The group performing them is called Arcangelo. The members are Sophie Gent (Violin), Jonathan Manson (Viola da Gamba), Thomas Dunford (Lute), Jonathan Cohen (Harpsichord).
