Bach: Cantata No. 106 “Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit” / Gustav Leonhardt
This is a funeral cantata composed during Bach’s Muhlhausen period (1707-1708). The instrumentation is modest: two recorders and two viola da gambas, and the two recorders are basically played in unison, with occasional moments of harmony. In the first sonatina, the dissonance tones which apears consecutive form (from the second half of bar 7) is also impressive. In the third piece, the alto aria and the bass arioso are seamlessly connected, and in the second half of the arioso, the alto superimposes Martin Luther’s hymn, while the two viola da gambas join in obbligato. It is the most frequently performed of Bach’s early cantatas. In the complete Bach Cantatas, the soprano and alto solos are sung by members of the “Knabenchor Hanover”(Marcus Klein, Raphael Harten). #baroque #bach #cantata #片山俊幸
